McDonald
I wish to thank some very special people i call friends they are known as the group Clan na Gael
They are out of western Nevada and their music is
celtic in design, my favorite
must be the *sprite* in me...*grins* But this one written by Randall Dighton has brought more laughter around my dining room table as friends gather there much the way the members of this group shared their laughter around that same table .
So smile fellows....and dream on......*grins*
Now young Angus McDonald was a fine and handsome lad
Full brawny, strong and bold, and dashing in His plaid.
He went to old MacTavish the best tailor in town.
To buy the finest kilt that was ever seen around.
When He tried on His new garment  ..Och! T'was fine and brave and neat.
Then He halted for a moment before turning to the street
Saying "Tell me friend, MacTavish, before i take my leave.
Is there any fabric left of this McDonald Tartan weave?"

Och! a wee bit" says I, as I went into the back
"About a yard and a half and the same I never lack"
"Take it with you if you want it, lad go on  now take it all
Tis nay good to make a kerchief and bit wee for a shawl."

Next morning Angus dressed up, Mary Cameron for to see
A sweet and comely lassie that had often caught His eye.
In his bonnie brave new kilt and his bonnet made of leather
With his gray coat hiding everything he strode across the heather.
He had not gone to far when a gore's thorn caught the hem
His kilt began to ravel, but this he did nay kin.
When he got to Mary's door, his brand new kilt was shed.
There was nothing left of it except the air between the treads.

Now Angus smiled at Mary as she opened up the door
He said" I've got a lovely thing to show, and for this I crossed the moor.
"Don't tease me now," said Mary "What is that You hide?"
"Do You like it lass?" cried Angus, as his coat was opened wide.

"OCH!!!!! Angus! Tis the bonniest thing I've ever seen!" sweet Mary did reply
Her eyes were shining as she gazed upon the scene.
"Well if you like this" Angus said "I'll tell ye if I may I've a good yard and a half
of it neatly tucked away."
